Minutes of Meeting 12th March 2018

Leigh on Mendip WI Meeting was held on Monday March 12th at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall

Minutes of the February meeting. The minutes having been read by members were agreed as a true record and were signed by Sue

Matters Arising

Village Clean. This was cancelled due to snow and it will take place on Saturday 17th March. All details the same

Village Fair Sue explained that we need to collect items for the adult tombola so this could be done now if one sees something suitable. Mary and Shelagh have offered to store them

Feedback

Vicar of Dibley. A lovely outing. Thank you to Mary for organising

Monthly lunch. This was cancelled because the pub was busy.

Coffee Morning March 5th. Well supported

ACWW Day. This was held on International Women’s Day. Tessa Munt was an inspirational speaker and the three members who went enjoyed it.

Banner Walk April 28th Sue asked again if anyone would like to carry the banner through Wells to celebrate the centenary. No one came forward.

Sue pointed out things of interest. Bath & West Show (p2) Jan & Caroline have volunteered to help in tea tent if anyone else wants to join them. On page 3 Caroline thanked for making Twiddlemuffs. Lady Cup competition (p5) Photo on middle page visit to jail. Centenary Craft Day and The Craft 4 Crafters Show (p9) On (p10) Thank you for our Denman donation. We raised and sent £250, £10 per person making us a “Super WI”

Friendship Café in Church. Ran for 3 weeks. Open again in August when the roof has been repaired.
