Record of the LOM WI Institute Meeting on Monday 9 October 2023
Caroline welcomed members and Rachel, Lucy & Jess. Caroline thanked those who came early to set up at 6.45pm.

Minutes of our September meeting: Sent out by e-mail and paper copies made available to read tonight. Agreed as a true record by those present.
Matters arising/feedback:
- Sales table last month made £22 for Dorothy House. Agreed to repeat in December for a different charity.
- Saturday Crafting Group – successful with 10 people. Next to be held November 4th 1.30-4.30pm
- Thanks for Shoebox items donated and also to Mary M & her daughter for collating and assembling. They will be taken to the AGM at the weekend.
Forthcoming events:
- Lunch at The Bell this month – Wednesday 18 October 12.30pm – see Mary M if interested
- Christmas Meal Monday 4 December at The Bell Inn £26 for 2 courses, £29.50 for 3 courses – £10 deposit in cash then choose your dishes/pay remainder in November
- Instead of giving each other gifts/secret Santa we will again make a collection of Christmas themed foods for the Frome foodbank – please bring these to the November meeting
- Christmas Tree Festival – 9/10 December – Birds of a Feather – loan of bird decorations please. Make sure you know what you have donated so they can be returned – perhaps take photos. Will also be making decorations in November. Any other ideas/suggestions will be very welcome.

- Unfortunately wrong photo to go with the caption on page 4. Page 7 quiz success mentioned.
- Workshops/Carol Festival in Wells to book. Please see one of the committee members
- Quiz sheets £1 available at AGM – names to Caroline please.
AOB:
- Village Arts & Crafts - 14/15 Oct – WI craft group creating a table display. Do come and support.
- Rec Field quiz Friday 3 November – teams of 4. Anymore names please tonight.
Caroline then presented a selection of photos from members from their travels far and near. We travelled round the World stopping at Alderney, Majorca, Italy, Crete, Egypt, N India, Bhutan, Vietnam, Canada and home to Devon, Clovelly, Norfolk and finally Bexhill on Sea. Members gave a brief talk to their photos. A big thank you to Caroline for her time and effort in making such a wonderful show.
