AOB:
Queen’s Birthday Weekend (11 June). Members asked if they would
like to organise an event. Committee
felt it was too close to our own Village Fair to commit a lot of time but did
suggest a low key whole village event, such as ‘Bring Your Own Picnic’ to the
Rec Field/School Playing Field. Will go
back to Anthea with this suggestion.
Somerset Day (11 May). Parish Council had sent out some
information. Also suggested to organise
an event at the weekend 14/15 May.
Members asked if they would like to get involved. All organisations have been asked. The Committee felt that personally they might
support an event but did not want to organise one.
Receipts for Subs. Members were asked to collect their Receipts
for their Subs if they wanted to have them.
Barbara then welcomed
Michael Malaghan a local author. He gave
us an amusing account of how he started writing, first as a journalist on a
local newspaper and later creating scripts for children’s TV programmes as well
as writing books for both children and adults.
