President's Report April 2020 - September 2021

Thank you to Jan for her summary of all the different activities and ways we have been keeping in touch during this most unusual time.

During this year your Committee have worked extra hard to make all this happen, keeping in touch, online fun, goody bags etc. Particular thanks go to our new committee ladies who joined during this time and to Sue Adams who came on Committee before even attending one meeting!

Thanks too to the non-committee ladies who took on special tasks over this period.

Our Membership has only dropped slightly to 34, after several ladies moved away from the village to be nearer their children. We welcomed 3 new members Tierna, Mary Phillips and Julie.  We are very pleased that several of you from out of village are still making that extra effort to be with us and your contribution, stories and laughter are most welcome.

As the COVID rules have eased a little, we have been able to get together in larger groups and this has been much enjoyed. Now we can use the hall, we will continue to go with your wishes with what feels comfortable for you to be here.

We will plan a full 2022 programme soon and include some “home grown” activities as well as speakers who can offer in person but also Zoom talks should we need to do some of those again.

As I end my 3 and a bit years as President I want to thank you all for being here, being fun and helping us all to feel supported. My best memories of this last year or so has been the chance to get to know individual members so much better, sharing news and many unexpected life stories, becoming a much closer friendship group. Long may it continue.

As I was always taught to say at the end of a party – Thank you for having me!
